Take a Vacation from Worry as You Stand for Your Marriage to be Restored
Written by Jason Carver
DEVOTIONAL:
Scripture: Psalm 119:114 (TPT) - "You’re my place of quiet retreat, and your wraparound presence becomes my shield as I wrap myself in your word!”

I am fully aware that standing for your marriage to be restored can often create intense worry and anxiety in your life. However, in the midst of the turbulence, God offers you a place of quiet retreat—a sanctuary where His wraparound presence becomes your shield. Psalm 119:114 reassures us that as we wrap ourselves in God's Word, we find refuge from worry and fear. Let's explore how you can take a vacation from worry as you stand for your marriage to be restored.

Firstly, recognize that worry is a thief of peace and joy. When you dwell on anxious thoughts about the future of your marriage, you rob yourself of the present moment and the blessings God has in store for you today. Instead of allowing worry to consume your mind and heart, choose to retreat into God's presence. Take intentional breaks throughout your day to spend time in prayer, meditation, and reflection on His Word. As you wrap yourself in His promises, you will experience His peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

Secondly, remember that God's presence is your ultimate shield against the attacks of the enemy. In the midst of marital challenges and setbacks, it's easy to feel vulnerable and exposed. However, when you intentionally abide in God's presence, His wraparound presence becomes your shield of protection. He surrounds you with His love, strength, and grace, shielding you from the fiery darts of doubt, fear, and despair. Trust in His unfailing love and faithfulness, knowing that He is fighting for you and your marriage even when you cannot see the battle raging around you.

Furthermore, immerse yourself in God's Word as your source of strength and encouragement. The Bible is filled with promises of hope, restoration, and redemption for marriages. As you wrap yourself in His Word, you align your heart and mind with His truth, renewing your perspective and strengthening your faith. Allow His Word to saturate your soul, transforming your worries into prayers of faith and thanksgiving. Remember that God's Word is living and active, capable of penetrating even the deepest recesses of your heart and mind (Hebrews 4:12).

Moreover, cultivate a lifestyle of trust and surrender to God's sovereign plan for your marriage. While it's natural to desire control and certainty, true peace comes from surrendering your worries and fears to God's loving care. Release the outcome of your marriage into His hands, trusting that He is working all things together for your good and His glory. Surrender your will to His, knowing that His ways are higher than your ways and His thoughts higher than your thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9).

As you take a vacation from worry and wrap yourself in God's Word and presence, you will find renewed strength, courage, and hope for your marriage restoration journey. Trust in His promises, lean on His presence, and surrender to His plan. He is your place of quiet retreat, your shield of protection, and your source of unfailing love and grace. May you experience His peace that surpasses all understanding as you stand firm in faith, believing that He is able to do immeasurably more than all you ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20).

I Hear the Lord saying over you...
“Take a vacation from worry today.”

As you stand for the restoration of your marriage be confident that My plans will be fulfilled in your life. Just trust in every word that I give you. My beloved, do not despair when you see a deadline is fast approaching. Look intentionally at the reality of my promises for you. Let them become your reality. Meditate on them and remind yourself of what I’ve done for you in the past. Remember the situations where you came out victorious. Remember, above all things, that my plans for you are good, full of purpose and life.

Don’t allow worry and anxiety to move you to action that isn’t led by the peace and wisdom of my Spirit. Don’t take the weight of delay upon your shoulders, as if it’s your burden to bear. I didn’t create you to live in stress. Lift your voice and declare my goodness. Praise me, because I love you and my plans are good. Trust me to lead you and to make a way. Then rest. Take a vacation day today—a vacation from anxiety, worry, and fear. My reality is and will be fulfilled in you and especially in your marriage.
